A GIRL, 20s, who sits toward the front of the room by a
window, and a pensive looking GUY. Also in his twenties, he
sits toward the back of the room in the row next to hers.
She rests her head in her hand, looks out the window. He
stares at her, though he drops his eyes every so often to
seem as if he isn’t. Resumes watching her again.
She lifts a hand mirror up to look at herself. Brushes her
fingertips slowly across her forehead, moving the hair that
falls in front of it away.

INT. CLASSROOM - LATER
SERIES OF CUTS
They sit close together in various postures.
His feet up on the desk, her legs crossed. He clasps his
hands behind his head. She laughs. He smiles at her,
listening to her talk.
INSERT
The HANDS OF A WALL CLOCK spin.
INT. UNIVERSITY - HALLWAY - DAY
Students speed quickly through.
INT. UNIVERSITY - COURTYARD - DAY
A virtual kaleidoscope of students and faculty moving quickly
in a myriad of directions.
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY
The two laugh together, clearly smitten with one another. We
concentrate upon the window and shift
OUTSIDE
To where autumn leaves quickly fall from trees. The trees
die, snow blanketing their limbs. Subsequently melts as the
sun returns and sprouts grow into full fledged leaves...
Spring.
END CUTS
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY
The couple laugh and are suddenly quiet again. Staring into
one another’s eyes.
Her eyes closing, she leans in slowly to kiss him... her lips
moving towards us...

A RED ROSE PETAL falls onto the surface of a desk and comes
to rest. A HAND brushes it away.
We’re above looking down. More fall. A TORRENT of petals
showering the desk. Another moment and they slow to cease
falling.
ON GUY
Standing at her desk, he places the ORIGAMI ROSE delicately
down on top of the petals. Slings his backpack on his back.
Leaves the room.
The girl lays on the floor near the desk, her eyes closed.
EXT. CLASSROOM - DAY
The door swings closed behind him as he exits. A sign is
posted.
“NO 2 P.M. CLASS TODAY”
He removes it.
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY
ON GIRL
Still curled up on the floor. Unmoving. Her mirror close to
her open hand, cracked.

INT. HALLWAY - DAY
The guy walks down the hall amongst hundreds of other
oblivious students. Some of them moving backwards.
GUY (V.O.)
We are strangers before a chance
meeting. I see you or you see me,
and for a moment we are one... And
it’s like time stops. People move
around us in their own little
worlds, perhaps waiting to
experience our seemingly perpetual
state of bliss...
But then at what point does it all
turn?
4.
In a sudden turn of events, students begin all moving the
same forward direction. Walking no faster than normal.
FADE TO BLACK.
